Personal information we collect

Upon your first visit to our website, you will be presented with the option to opt-in or opt-out of the use of cookies and tracking technologies. If you choose to opt-in, we will automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

We collect Device Information using technologies such as cookies, log files, web beacons, tags, and pixels. Cookies are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies and how to disable them, please visit our Cookie Policy.

If you choose to opt-out of cookies and tracking, no data will be collected from your device during your browsing session. However, please note that certain functionalities of the website may be limited without the use of cookies.

When you fill out one of our website forms, we collect certain information from you, typically your name, email address, and company name. We refer to this information as “Contact Information.”

Additionally, when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers), email address, and phone number. We refer to this information as “Order Information.”

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are referring to both Device Information and Order Information.

How do we use your personal information?

We use the Contact Information that we collect to reply to your contact request or send you newsletter emails if you opted-in to receive such emails. You can read more about our contact form and newsletter subscriptions in separate paragraphs further below.

We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to:
– Communicate with you;
– Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and
– When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

Contact possibility via the contact page

When you use our contact form to get in touch with us, we collect the personal information you provide, such as your name, email address, and any other details you choose to share. This information is used solely for the purpose of responding to your inquiry and providing assistance. We do not share this information with third parties unless required by law or with your explicit consent. Your personal data collected through the contact form is stored securely and accessed only by authorized personnel who are bound by confidentiality obligations.

We may also use your contact information to send you relevant updates or newsletters if you have opted in to receive such communications. You have the right to request access to, rectification, or erasure of your data, or to restrict or object to its processing. For more information on how we handle your personal data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

Subscription to our newsletters

On this site users are given the opportunity to subscribe to newsletters, e.g. by requesting the download of a free resource. The input mask used for this purpose determines what personal data are transmitted, as well as when the newsletter is ordered from the controller.

A confirmation e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address registered by a data subject for the first time for newsletter shipping, for legal reasons, in the double opt-in procedure. This confirmation e-mail is used to prove whether the owner of the e-mail address as the data subject is authorized to receive the newsletter.

During the registration for the newsletter, we also store the IP address of the computer system assigned by the Internet service provider (ISP) and used by the data subject at the time of the registration, as well as the date and time of the registration. The collection of this data is necessary in order to understand the (possible) misuse of the e-mail address of a data subject at a later date, and it therefore serves the aim of the legal protection of the controller.

The personal data collected as part of a registration for the newsletter will only be used to send our newsletter. In addition, subscribers to the newsletter may be informed by e-mail, as long as this is necessary for the operation of the newsletter service or a registration in question, as this could be the case in the event of modifications to the newsletter offer, or in the event of a change in technical circumstances. There will be no transfer of personal data collected by the newsletter service to third parties. The subscription to our newsletter may be terminated by the data subject at any time. The consent to the storage of personal data, which the data subject has given for shipping the newsletter, may be revoked at any time. For the purpose of revocation of consent, a corresponding link is found in each newsletter. It is also possible to unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time through an unsubscribe link that can be found in every newsletter email sent.

Sharing your personal information

We may share parts or all of your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. For example, we use Google Analytics to help us understand how our customers use the Site

– you can read more about how Google uses your Personal Information here: https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/. You can also opt-out of Google Analytics here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Newsletter tracking

The newsletter contains so-called tracking pixels. A tracking pixel is a miniature graphic embedded in such e-mails, which are sent in HTML format to enable log file recording and analysis. This allows a statistical analysis of the success or failure of online marketing campaigns. Based on the embedded tracking pixel, we may see if and when an e-mail was opened by a data subject, and which links in the e-mail were called up by data subjects.

Such personal data collected in the tracking pixels contained in the newsletters are stored and analyzed by the controller in order to optimize the shipping of the newsletter, as well as to adapt the content of future newsletters even better to the interests of the data subject. These personal data will not be passed on to third parties. Data subjects are at any time entitled to revoke the respective separate declaration of consent issued by means of the double-opt-in procedure. After a revocation, these personal data will be deleted by the controller. We automatically regards a withdrawal from the receipt of the newsletter as a revocation.

Behavioural advertising

As described above, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you. For more information about how targeted advertising works, you can visit the Network Advertising Initiative’s (“NAI”) educational page at https://www.networkadvertising.org/understanding-online-advertising/how-does-it-work.
